Christmas Festivities 'a la Peyton'

I realize it's already 2009, and yes, it's taken me until now to post about my first Christmas. Let's just say it was so much holly jolly ho-ho-ho fun that until this very moment I've been processing the enormity of what I experienced this holiday (and it might have a teeny bit to do with some camera technical difficulties on Mommy's part).

So anyways, WOAH - Christmas was AWESOME. I got to meet a boat load of amazing people, and the very best part is that I'm RELATED to most of them! We went to Buffalo and stayed at Gramma + Papa Brackenridge's house, which in itself was a total blast. Gramma + Papa kept me so entertained and loved...they gave me a bottle, played games with me, Gramma had long discussions with me about anything and everything, and Papa + I got to take a little nap together. Pure bliss.

On Christmas Eve Mommy + Daddy took me over to Mommy's cousin Wendy's house, and I met a bunch of people on Mommy's side of the family! I especially enjoyed being carried around by Mommy's cousin Jennifer, hanging out with Wendy + Mark, meeting my Great Aunt Beverly, and having my very first Pierogi and Polish sausage (well, it was Mommy + Daddy who actually ate that stuff, not me, but I at least got to see what all the hubub was about).

Christmas morning, I got up early + read the note that Santa left me. He left me a 'My 1st Christmas' ornament and he ate all the cookies I left out for him! So cool. We went over to my Aunt Amy's house where my cousins Sam + Max were busy opening all the presents that Santa brought them. I opened a lot of gifts, too...I got some amazing stuff. I finally had time at Aunt Amy's to hang out with Sam and Max...and I am one VERY lucky lady, because folks, my cousins...well, they are simply the best cousins around. And they are ALL MINE! Sam played with me with some of my new toys, and Max was worried that Sam's new video game was inappropriate for my young ears...he kept saying "I don't think Peyton should be hearing this!".

Later on, back at Gramma + Papa's, we had Christmas dinner with all the rest of the family. Uncle Tommy and Aunt Suzy were there, even Grammy Bowers came up with Holly, who I finally got to meet! Grammy + Holly brought me and my parents wayyyy too many nice, nice gifts. I wore a smokin' little red velvet number with a white furry collar and 'mary jane' tights. I looked GOOOOOOOOD, people. And the crowd appreciated it. Sam helped me with tummy time, Max read me my favorite book, Aunt Amy spent some quality time kickin' it with me.

I mean it...this was the best Christmas EVER, hands down. Nevermind that it was my only. If this is how Christmas is gonna be, I'll take it.
